Grant Dunlap

Grant Lester Dunlap (December 20, 1923 – September 10, 2014) was an American Major League Baseball player. Nicknamed "Snap", he played in 16 games for the St. Louis Cardinals in . Originally signed at the age of 17 by the Cincinnati Reds in , it took Dunlap twelve years (during part of which he served in the Marine Corps during and after World War II) to reach the major leagues. He was born in Stockton, California.
In his brief major league career, Dunlap served primarily as a pinch hitter, garnering six hits in 17 at bats, including one triple and one home run. He did play one game as a right fielder, but made no plays in the field. Dunlap is a member of the Stockton, California Sports Hall of Fame for achievements in both baseball and basketball. As of 2013 he lived in Carlsbad, California. He died in 2014 in Vista, California.
